Historic Night For Hardin-Simmons Senior standout/Duncanville Alum Steven Quinn

Hardin-Simmons Senior Steven Quinn had a historic night on the hardwood, finishing with a career-high 35pts 11rebs in the win over Sul Ross St on Saturday, surpassing the 1,500 point scoring mark in his career at Hardin-Simmons University. A 4 year letterman and 3x All-Conference performer, Quinn is having a stellar senior campaign so far, averaging career bests in Points Scored (21ppg), Free Throw % (89%), and Minutes Per Game (31mpg) while also shooting 39% from beyond the arc this season.


If Quinn continues this level of play, he will separate himself as the frontrunner for the

2022-23 American Southwest Conference Player of The Year Award.

2021-22

  • Started all 23 games he played. 

  • Averaged a career-best 16.9 points and 5.5 rebounds. 

  • Had 18 double-figure scoring games and topped 20 seven times and 30 twice. 

  • Had a career-best 31 points against East Texas Baptist.

  • Had a double-double against Trinity with 15 points and 11 rebounds. 

  • Scored 30 against Southwestern. 

  • Shot 84.4 percent at the line with 135 attempts. 

  • Named first-team all-ASC for the third time.

  • Named academic all-ASC.

2020-21

  • Started all 24 games and had 19 double-figure scoring efforts. 

  • Averaged 13.6 points and 5.4 rebounds per game. 

  • Named first-team all-ASC West. 

  • Had a season-best 30 points at East Texas Baptist. 

  • Named academic all-ASC. 

2019-20

  • Became the first Cowboy to be named first-team all-ASC West as a sophomore.  

  • Averaged 11.8 points and 4.3 rebounds per contest. 

  • Had 14 double-figure scoring games. 

  • Scored a season-best 29 points at Mary Hardin-Baylor. 

  • Had a pair of double-doubles. 

2018-19

  • Played in all 28 games and started 15.

  • Averaged 12.1 points and 3.7 rebounds per contest. 

  • Scored 30 points in a win at LeTourneau.

  • Had 29 points in a win over Howard Payne. 

  • Named ASC Freshman of the Year. 

  • Named to the ASC West all-freshman team. 

  • Named honorable mention all-ASC West.  

High School

  • Played for coach Corey Chism at Duncanville High School. 

  • Played AAU for Dallas Pacers and coach McNeil.

  • Son of Steven Quinn and Yolande Dillard. 

  • Has a brother, Tyler.
